Johann (John) was born on January 18th, 1871 in Forreston, Ogle, Illinois. Johann (John)'s father was Aalderk Jochums Eikamp and his mother was Klaaske (Clara) Smidt. His maternal grandparents were Jakob Heijen Gerdes Smidt and Frauke (Fanny) DeGrave.
