Alfred R. was born on March 9th, 1814 in Shelby Co.,KY. Alfred R.'s father was George W. Rodgers and his mother was Elizabeth Pierson. His maternal grandparents were Meshack Pierson and Mary Jennings. He had eight brothers and five sisters, named Nicholas, Charles, Willis, Achilles, William M., Samuel, Daniel, John, Thursa, Nedelie, Mahala, Betsy and Sarah. He died at the age of 70 on December 28th, 1884 in Keokuk Co.,Iowa. He was buried in Lebanon Baptist Church Cem.,Franklin Co.,KY.-
