Mark Robinson 
Mark was born on October 23rd, 1729 in Prince George Co.,VA.1 Mark's father was John Robinson and his mother was Mary Evans. His paternal grandparents were Nicholas Robinson and Jane Tilghman. He had seven brothers and two sisters, and also a sibling of unknown gender, named John, Nicholas, Nathaniel, Abraham, Edward, Robert, John, Sarah, Sarah and Frances. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 84 in 1813.1 General Notes

Linda Jean McCullough note: "In 1768 Luke Robinson took a land grant at the con fluence of Cheek's Creek and Little River. He was a mill owner, a Whig, active in regulator affairs. A conservative leader at the riots at Anson Courthouse an d Hillsboro. He raised petititons and personally presented them to Governor Try on. In 1771 he served in Capt. Laurence Thompson's militia company -- looking f or regulators!!! Sept. 15, 1781 Robinson's farm was the rendezvous for the mili tia callup of Gen. Griffith Rutherford. 950 infantrymen and 200 calvary reporte d. Two troops assigned to Capt. Simmons of Rowan and Capt. Graham of Mecklenbur g. Calvary to Maj. Robert Smith of Mecklenburg. A few days at Robinson's, then two weeks training at Monroe Bridge. Then down Drowning Creek to McFall's Mill and the famous "Hacking Battle" of Raft Swamp. This settled Tory activities com pletely and finally."
