Richard was born in of Rhiwsaeson,Llanbryn-Mair,Montgomeryshire,Wales. Richard's father was Athelstan Owen and his mother was Elizabeth Herbert. His maternal grandparents were Mathew Herbert Esquire and Margaret (Anne) Foxe. He was an only child. He died in 1674.General Notes
