Christopher was born about 1562 in of,Margam,Glamorganshire,Wales. Christopher's father was Edward Mansel Sir Knight and his mother was Jane Somerset Lady. His maternal grandparents were Henry Somerset *E Worcest and Elizabeth Browne. He had ten brothers and four sisters, named Francis, Anthony, Philip, Thomas, Harry (Henry), William, Edward, Charles |Mansel|, Rhys, Robert, Elsbeth, Cecily, Mary and Anne.
