Cecily was born about 1552 in of,Margam,Glamorganshire,Wales. Cecily's father was Edward Mansel Sir Knight and her mother was Jane Somerset Lady. Her maternal grandparents were Henry Somerset *E Worcest and Elizabeth Browne. She had eleven brothers and three sisters, named Francis, Anthony, Philip, Thomas, Christopher, Harry (Henry), William, Edward, Charles |Mansel|, Rhys, Robert, Elsbeth, Mary and Anne.
