Walter was born about 1206 in Of,Pembroke,Pembrokeshire,Wales. Walter's father was William MARSHALL and his mother was Isabel Fitzgilbert De CLARE. His paternal grandparents were John "the Marshall" FITZGILBERT and Sibilla (Sibyl) De SALISBURY; his maternal grandparents were Richard "Strongbow" Fitzgilbert De CLARE and Eva (Aoife) MCMURROUGH. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Gilbert, William, Richard, Anselm, Margaret, Maud (Matilda), Eve, Joane, Isabel and Sibyl. He was the second youngest of the eleven children. He died on November 24th, 1245 in Goodrich Castle,London,Middlesex,England. He was buried in ,Tintern,Abbey,England.General Notes
