Thomas Rowell was born on June 30th, 1834 in Compton,Quebec,Canada. Thomas Rowell's father was Jeremiah Leavitt and his mother was Sarah Sturdevant. His maternal grandparents were Lemuel (Don) Sturtevant and Priscilla Thomson. He had six brothers and five sisters, named Jeremiah, Weire, Wier, Lemuel Sturdevant, Sturtevant (Or Studevant), Dudley, Mary Ann, Clarissa, Louisa, Betsy Jane and Sarah Priscilla.
