Nicholas was born in of Ferns Castle,Kilbride,Wexford,Ireland. Nicholas' father was Edward Kemeys Esquire and his mother was Alice ferch John. His paternal grandparents were Edward Kemeys Esquire and Joan Lewis. He had three brothers and five sisters, named Edward, John, Thomas, Hester, Margaret, Miss, Anne and Catherine. He died in 1699.
