Richard was born on March 2nd, 1779 in ,Chorley,Lancashire,England. Richard's father was James HOLDEN and his mother was Margaret Mrs MASON. His paternal grandparents were James HOLDEN and Margaret FLITCROFT; his maternal grandparents were William SLATER and Elizabeth WILLIAMSON.
