Herbert was born on July 21st, 1794 in of Delbury,Ludlow,Shropshire,England. Herbert's father was Folliott Herbert |Walker- Cornewall Reverend and his mother was Anne Hamilton. His paternal grandparents were Frederick Cornewall Captain and Mary Herbert. He had a brother and a sister, named Frederick Hamilton and Marianne. He was the youngest of the three children.
