Nancy Ann was born on October 1st, 1852 in Huntsville,Madison,AR.1 Nancy Ann's father was John B. Bohannon and her mother was Mary Elizabeth "Betsy" Terry. Her maternal grandparents were William Terry and Barbara Ennis. She had four brothers and two sisters, named William, John H., George Henry, Thomas Martin, Hannah B. and Barbara. She was the youngest of the seven children. She had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named James B.H., Carlton, Joseph Barnabas, Tabitha "Liz" and Carolton "Tiney".-
