Rohese De was born about 1062 in Grentemesnil, Calvados, France.  Rohese De's father was Hugh De Grentmesnil Lord of Hinckle and her mother was Adeliza Or Alice De Beaumont. She had five brothers and five sisters, named Robert De, William De, Hugh De, Ivo (Ives) De, Alberic De, Adeline De, Halewise De, Matilda (Maud) De, Agnes De and Hawise De.  She was the sixth oldest of the eleven children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Robert II De and Alice.
