Samuel Davis was born on January 14th, 1828 in ,Fayette County,KY.1 Samuel Davis' father was James Rankin Young and his mother was Elizabeth Ryman. His paternal grandparents were John Young and Mary Rankin. He had nine brothers and two sisters, named John Ryman, Lawson, William, Preston, James C., Thomas, Archibald, Robert, Joseph, Mary and Sarah Rachel. He was the fifth youngest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 63 on December 13th, 1891 in ,Glenn County,CA.1 -
