Jackson was born in 1845. Jackson's father was James S. Young and his mother was Sarah Mortimer. His paternal grandparents were James Young and Mary Guyn; his maternal grandparents were Famous MORTIMER and Fanny FITZGERALD. He had four brothers and a sister, named James C., John, Robert B, Jeremiah and Nancy. He was the third youngest of the six children. He had a half-brother and a half-sister, named William and Martha Emily.-
