Della was born on September 25th, 1893. Della's father was Mathias E Young and her mother was Mary Ann Lee. Her paternal grandparents were Robert B Young and Mary Jane Stewart; her maternal grandparents were William LEE and Sally AMOS. She had three brothers and nine sisters, named Charles, Harry R, Fred, Luretta, Effie, Elizabeth, Laura, May, Eva, Gertrude, Irene and Ethyl. She was the sixth youngest of the thirteen children.-
