Clyde G. was born on August 21st, 1898. Clyde G.'s father was Herschel Matthew Phipps and his mother was Ollie Jane Harrington. His paternal grandparents were Washington Hamilton PHIPPS and Maria Louisa Morris. He had two brothers and a sister, named Terrence Oswald, Clayton Horace and Edith Martha. He was the second youngest of the four children.-
