Robert was born on September 14th, 1809 in ,Bath,VA. Robert's father was Robert Lockridge and his mother was Mary Elizabeth Gwin. His paternal grandparents were Andrew Lockridge and Jean Graham; his maternal grandparents were Joseph Gwin and Mary Jane Kinkead. He had four brothers and two sisters, named David Gwin, Andrew, John, William Henry, Mary Ann and Mary Graham. He was the third youngest of the seven children. He died at the age of 81 on March 28th, 1891 in ,Highland,VA.-
