Reuben Hurlbut 
Reuben was born on February 15th, 1758 in Middletown,Middlesex Co,Connecticut.1 Reuben's father was Gideon Hurlbut and his mother was Deborah Brainerd. His paternal grandparents were David Hurlbut and Mercy UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were Abijah Brainerd and Esther Smith. He had eight brothers and four sisters, named Jonathan, Gideon Jr, Jonathan, Timothy, Abijah, Jessie, Joseph, Reuben, Dorcas, Phebe, Deborah and Sarah. He was the fifth oldest of the thirteen children. He died at the age of 18 in 1776.General Notes
BIOGRAPHY: 1800 census for Bristol, Schoharie Co, NY, lists a Rueben Holbert onthe same page as Timothy, but with 0/0/1/0/0, 1/0/0/1/0. This could not be theright Reuben unless the census-taker marked the wrong box for Reuben's age. He should be in the 26-45 range, rather than the 16-26.
BIOGRAPHY: 1810 census for Broome, Schoharie Co, NY, has Reuben Hurlbut with 1/0/0/1/0, 4/0/0/1/0, on the same page as Timothy.
