John Mathias was born in 1867 in Indiana. John Mathias' father was Mathias J. Fuchtmann and his mother was Johanna Dorothea Theising. His paternal grandparents were John M. Fuchtmann and Unknown UNKNOWN; his maternal grandparents were John Henry Christopher Theising and Maria Julianna Gertrude Klenke. He had two brothers and five sisters, named George, Johann Mathias, Catherine, Elisabeth L. Othelia, Veronica Sophronia, Rosalind Katherine and Catherina Celia. He was the third oldest of the eight children. He had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named John Henry Jr., Maria Aloysius and Maria Carolina. He died at the age of 71 on January 1st, 1938 in Batesville,Franklin,IN. He was buried in St. Louis Cemetery.General Notes
