Arthur Amer was born on April 26th, 1831 in Pennsylvania. Arthur Amer's father was John Ames and his mother was Mary Thompson. His paternal grandparents were Jabez Ames and Elizabeth Smith. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Erastus Hoskin, Demas L, John Martin, Samuel L, Joshua, Rosa Ann, Elizabeth, Mary Ann and Celia.
