Her paternal grandparents were Bernard I (Benno) Duke of Saxony and Hildegarde von Stade; her maternal grandparents were Heinrich I, Markgraf von Schweinfurt and Gerberge von Gleiberg. She had three brothers and two sisters, named Ordulf Duke of, Hermann Prince of, Hermann, Ide (Relinde) and Hedwig of. She had a half-sister named Ita von.
