Count Sieghard VIII of was born in 0979.  Count Sieghard VIII of's father was Count Engelbert III of Chiemgau and his mother was Princess Adela of Bavaria.  His paternal grandparents were Count Sieghard IV of Chiemgau and Princess Willa of Chiemgau; his maternal grandfather was Count Hartwich I of Bavaria. He had four brothers named Bishop Hartwig of, Count Engelbert IV of, Count Friedrich of and Engelbert of.  He was the oldest of the five children.  He died at the age of 65 on July 5th, 1044.
