Margarette Zike 
Margarette was born on February 2nd, 1857 in Monroe County, Indiana. Margarette's father was Jacob Zike and her mother was Mary Dianna Baugh. Her paternal grandparents were Jacob "Zeuch" Zike and Katherine Lucinda Avey; her maternal grandparents were George Wiseman and Elizabeth Baugh. She had three brothers and six sisters, named Andrew J., Samuel William, Jacob Woodard, Cassinda, America Jane, Rebecca, Malinda, Lucindia and Susannah. She was the youngest of the ten children. She died at the age of 91 on September 1st, 1948 in Monroe County, Indiana. She was buried in Clover Hill Cemetery, Harrodsburg, Indiana.General Notes
The Rev. Harry Smith had the pleasure and the honor of preaching the
funeral of Mrs. Buchanan. He held many interviews with this fine old
pioneer lady. From her, he obtained copies of pictures of both Jacob
Zike, Jr. and Dianna Baugh. Maggie Buchanan was always faithful attender
of the Zike Reunion as long as the old organization existed.
Margarette lived in Bloomington, Indiana.
