James Fred Buchanan 
James Fred was born on February 12th, 1883. James Fred's father was Jehu Buchanan and his mother was Margarette Zike. His maternal grandparents were Jacob Zike and Mary Dianna Baugh. He had a brother and a sister, named Charles E. and Mary J.. He died at the age of 65 on December 6th, 1948. He was buried in Rose Hill Cemetery, Bloomington, Monroe, Indiana.General Notes
Fred lived and had his business in Bloomington, Monroe County, Indiana.
He was a welder by trade. He was very much interested in the history of
his mother's people. He was a regular attendent at the old Zike Reunion
and was present until it ceased to meet. Before Fred's mother passed
away, he built an iron fence around the Old Zike Family Cemetery, where
his grandparents are buried. He kept this in good repair until his death.
I have seen what is left of his handiwork and it still serves it's
purpose.
