Catherine Marie was born on October 20th, 1915 in Monroe Co., Indiana. Catherine Marie's father was Homer Francis Harmon and her mother was Cordelia Shields. Her maternal grandparents were Charles Edgar Shields and Elizabeth Jane Hedrick. She had four brothers and a sister, named Edgar M., Robert Turner, Homer Francis, James Franklin and Wanda Elizabeth. She was the second oldest of the six children.-
