Melvina was born on June 20th, 1874 in Polk Twp, Monroe, Indiana. Melvina's father was Alexander Conner and her mother was Eliza Jane Pope. Her paternal grandparents were John Connor and Mary Sincleer; her maternal grandparents were Simon Pope and Rebecca Prince. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Louis J., Samuel, Tarrence Alonzo Francis, William Alexander, James, Charles Edgar, Florey A., Catherine Jane, Mary Jeanette 'Nettie' and Ida Ellen. She was the second youngest of the eleven children. She had a half-sister named Sarah A.( Nuckles). She died at the age of 79 on January 1st, 1954 in Monroe Co., Indiana.-
