Ida Ellen was born in 1871 in Polk Twp, Monroe, Indiana. Ida Ellen's father was Alexander Conner and her mother was Eliza Jane Pope. Her paternal grandparents were John Connor and Mary Sincleer; her maternal grandparents were Simon Pope and Rebecca Prince. She had six brothers and four sisters, named Louis J., Samuel, Tarrence Alonzo Francis, William Alexander, James, Charles Edgar, Florey A., Catherine Jane, Mary Jeanette 'Nettie' and Melvina. She was the third youngest of the eleven children. She had a half-sister named Sarah A.( Nuckles).-
