William Chitwood

William was born on December 7th, 1801. William's father was Pleasant Chitwood and his mother was Sarah Cowan. His paternal grandparents were James Chitwood and Martha White. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named James, David, John, Daniel, Hugh, Isaac Shelby, Andrew, Pleasant, Nancy, Polly and Sophronia. He was the second oldest of the twelve children.
