James Chitwood

James was born on May 27th, 1798. James' father was Pleasant Chitwood and his mother was Sarah Cowan. His paternal grandparents were James Chitwood and Martha White. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named William, David, John, Daniel, Hugh, Isaac Shelby, Andrew, Pleasant, Nancy, Polly and Sophronia. He was the oldest of the twelve children.
