David Chitwood 
David was born on March 20th, 1805 in Scott Co., Tennessee. David's father was Pleasant Chitwood and his mother was Sarah Cowan. His paternal grandparents were James Chitwood and Martha White. He had eight brothers and three sisters, named James, William, John, Daniel, Hugh, Isaac Shelby, Andrew, Pleasant, Nancy, Polly and Sophronia. He was the fourth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 45 on April 26th, 1850 in Monroe County, Indiana.-
