William Nelson was born on October 9th, 1916 in Madison, Jefferson County, Indiana. William Nelson's father was Roy L. Chadwell and his mother was Clara Teresa Bertel. His paternal grandparents were Turner Dixon Chadwell and Belle Mariah Taylor; his maternal grandparents were John T. Bertel and Maria M. Angrick. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Herman Turner, Robert Richard, Earl Leonard, Thomas Edward, Thelma Gertrude, Helena Teresa, Alberta Margaret, Kathleen Nellie, Stillborn Girl and Living. He died at the age of 59 on November 7th, 1975 in San Antonio, Bexar County, Texas.-
