Earl Leonard was born on July 23rd, 1927 in Rushville, Rush County, Indiana. Earl Leonard's father was Roy L. Chadwell and his mother was Clara Teresa Bertel. His paternal grandparents were Turner Dixon Chadwell and Belle Mariah Taylor; his maternal grandparents were John T. Bertel and Maria M. Angrick. He had four brothers and six sisters, named Herman Turner, William Nelson, Robert Richard, Thomas Edward, Thelma Gertrude, Helena Teresa, Alberta Margaret, Kathleen Nellie, Stillborn Girl and Living. He died at the age of 66 on April 18th, 1994 in Austin, Travis County, Texas.-
