Nancy Ellen was born about 1864 in Of Peytona,Boone County,West Virginia. Nancy Ellen's father was William Macdonald Javins and her mother was Frances J. SMITH. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Watts Javins and Mary (Polly) Basham. She had five brothers and two sisters, named John Marcellus, Daniel Samuel, Lloyd Washington, James Thomas, Joshua Franklin, Sarah Margarett and Mary Rozetta. She was the fourth oldest of the eight children.
