John Henry was born about 1871. John Henry's father was John Hix and his mother was Eliza Elken. His paternal grandparents were David Hix and Mildred Huddleston. He had two brothers and four sisters, named Charles S., James Robert, Nancy M., Sarah L., Ann Eliza and Mary E.. He was the youngest of the seven children.-
