Charles H was born about 1839 in Kanawha Co,WV. Charles H's father was David Hix Jr and his mother was Isabella Beckett. His paternal grandparents were David Hix and Mildred Huddleston. He had four brothers and two sisters, named John B, James Jerome, Andrew M, Napoleon J, Sarah Margaret and Alice. He was the second oldest of the seven children.-
