Laura was born on December 17th, 1881 in Roane Co,WV. Laura's father was Lawrence Hicks and her mother was Cynthia Ann Hinkle. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Stephen Hicks and Margaret Boggs. She had six brothers and two sisters, named Leonard S., Edgar W., Henry Clay, Joseph Brown, Luther E., Ottis P., Lizzie E. and Nancy E.. She was the youngest of the nine children. She died at the age of 73 on May 30th, 1955 in Roane Co,WV.-
