John Hicks 
John was born in 1868 in Calhoun Co,WV. John's father was George Washington Hicks and his mother was Elizabeth McCune. His paternal grandparents were Joseph Stephen Hicks and Margaret Boggs. He had two brothers named William Henry and Lawrence A.. He was the second oldest of the three children. He had five half-brothers and a half-sister, named James David, Owen Lewis, Benjamin Armstrong, Joseph Steven, John and Margaret Jane. He died at the age of 79 in 1947 in Calhoun Co,WV.-
