This gentleman was ousted of his dignities of Derby andNottingham by King Richard I, but they were soon afterwrdsrestored to him,and we find him accompanying the lion-heartedmonarch to the Holy Land,
where he lost his life at the siege ofAcon anno. 1191. His lordship, amongst other gifts to thechurch, gave in the 1st Richard I, for the health of his souland the sould of Sibel lhis wife, to the
monks of St. Denis, inFrance, o ax taper yerly, price thirteen pence; as also a stagand boar in their proper seasons, to be sent annually thither atthe feast of St. Denis, by himself and his
