This nobleman rebelled against Henry II and marching at the headof the Leicestershire men (19 Hen.II) upon Nottingham, then keptor the king by Reginald de Luci, got possession of this town,which he
sacked, putting the greater part of the inhabitants tothe sword, and taking the rest prisoners. He was soonafterwards, however, reduced to submission, and obliged tosurrender to the crown his
