From David Fridley
Jesse Clements died in Missouri in 1840. He and Polly lived at the edge of Panther Mountain. They lived on her father's land. This was only a portion of about 150 acres. Polly's father livedthere too as did her brother Bluford and family and maybe others. There wereseveral houses on the property. John and Mary Martin (Polly's grandparents) are buried in the cemetery on the property.
Mary Blenkenship, husband and sister visited the area leading to the house. Abe and Jane Trible Martin are buried there as well as others, especially chilren who may have died young. They were on top of the mountain for the last time in April 1963. They had lefttheir truck at Mary's father's place (Jennings Farm) and then walked up over her husbands and her farm which they had sold in 1949. Their land adjoined the Polly Martin Clements tract before he sold to the Government before Houstonand Violet Wright were married.
The graveyard was still visible with some rocks for monuments. Mary didn't think she had seen it before. The whole mountain fields had grown up. As a child Mary remembers them in pasture and farm land. The house still stands but Mary doesn't think it was nay of the originals but may have been built by one of Polly's borther's grandsons who lived there until his death. He was Bluford Martin, who married Anna Station Martin. Itwas willed to their youngest Radar O. Martin. They had one son Bluford always called "Little Bluford"/Radar died in 1953 and the land all belongs to his son Bluford. He owns a large amount of land. Mary is sure that it is all of the Polly Martin Clements Tract, plus more which her great-grandfather Gustana had owned long ago.
