Hugh was born in 0946 in 938 9 941. Hugh's father was Hugh the Great and his mother was Hedwige Hedwiga DE SAXONY. His paternal grandparents were Robert of France I and Beatrix DE VERMANDOIS; his maternal grandparents were Henry I the Fowler and Mathilde RINGLEHEIM. He had two brothers and two sisters, named Eudes, Henri, BeatrixBeatrice and Emma. He was the youngest of the five children. He had a half-sister named Gerberge de Maine. He died in Paris,France Les Juifs,nr Chartres. He was buried in 0996 in St Denis,France.General Notes
