Abraham was born on March 15th, 1831 in Monongalia County,West Virginia. Abraham's father was Solomon Exline and his mother was Jane Smith. His paternal grandfather was John Exline; his maternal grandfather was Richard W. Smith. He had five brothers and two sisters, named George, Richard, Solomon, Ebenezer Smith, Laban R., Elizabeth and Jane. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had two half-sisters named Sarah and Margaret. He died at the age of 72 on February 22nd, 1904 in Richie County,West Virginia.-
