Miriah was born in 1827.1 Miriah's father was Adam Young and her mother was Eleanor Hilton. Her maternal grandparents were John Hilton and Margaret Ferrill. She had four sisters named Julia Ann, Susannah, Louisa and Susan E.. She was the second youngest of the five children.-
