Teh Three Sisters are seeking information about the parents
or birthplace of John Ferrill. We do not believe the data
listed below is correct. Our John Ferrill was likely the
John Ferrill with wife Margaret who sold land in Augusta
Co. VA on 17th November, 1767. We think the John Ferrill
of Maryland is not our John Ferrill. If you can help solve
this mystery, contact powell@@cswnet.com.

I feel it is unlikely that our John Ferrill, father of
Margaret who married John Hilton, is the same John Ferrill
that died in Maryland and I feel it is highly unlikely that
he served in the Rev. with a Maryland Unit. I think the
Maryland John Ferrell is a different person, but our John
Ferrill married Margaret Baughman, not the Maryland John
Ferrell. Fleta Aday

I am also a descendent of John Ferrill/Margaret Baughman.
Have been working on this line for a number of years. My
research shows that John Ferrill was apparently killed at
Crab Orchard,KY about 1779/80. This was known as the
"Baughman Massacre". The story is that Margaret and their
children, John [my ancestor], Margaret [your ancestor] and
another daughter Elizabeth escaped. Please contact me and we
can dicuss this further. Thanks, Del

Re: Ferrill/Baughman Hi Fleta,
The Baughman line has been difficult for me over the years.
A lot of what I have discovered came through my research on
our Ferril family. However, a few years ago, I contacted a
person named Rachel Horne who has done extensive research
on the Baughman line. I believe her data pretty much fits
with my conclusions.
It appears that our ancestor, Margaret Baughman b. abt
1734, Canton Zurich, Switzerland, Baptized 11 Apr 1734.
Father: Jacob Baughman, b 1696, Parish Elgg, Schotteken,
Canton Zurich, m abt 1720 to Margaretha Schwizler, b 1698,
Parish Elgg, Schottekin, Canton Zurich, baptized 25 Dec
1698. They had 8 children and came to America in 1743,
settling in PA.
Were very fortunate that Will C Ferril, th Great Grandson
of John and Margaret Ferril did extensive research on the
the Ferril line. He indicates that Our John Ferril was born
in Belfast, Ireland. Unfortunetly, he provides very little
information on the Baughman's
I do not have the name of the person that Elizabeth Ferril
married. Do you have much information on your Margaret
Ferril who married John Hilton? Did they remain in KY?
Rachel Horne indicates that Margaet Baughman Ferril died in
KY abt 1793. Do you have any info to verify that date?
Looking forward to hearing from you. My address is Del
McCuen, PO Box 1002, Ferndale, CA 95536.

Are you aware that there is an Augusta County, VA Deed,
Book 14, Pages 16 thru 21 which indicates John Ferril & his
wife Margaret sold land which John Ferril had purchased in
1755. If John was born between 1730 & 1740 and Margaret
in1734 this could certainly be them. The locale would also
make sense
