William Warren 
William was born in 1586 in Poynton, Stockport, Cheshire, England/Poynton, England.1 William's father was Edward Warren and his mother was Anne Davenport. His paternal grandparents were Johannes Warren De Poynton and Lady Margaret Molineux; his maternal grandparents were William Davenport and Margaret Ashton. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named John, John, Ralph, Humphrey, Margaret, Frances, Elizabeth, Margaret, Dorothy, Anne and Catherine. He had ten half-brothers and a half-sister, named Radcliffe, Edward, Laurence, Edmond, Thomas, Ralph, Richard, Halsall, George, Posthumous and Elizabeth. He died at the age of 58 in 1644 in Yorktown, VA. in a Opechancanough Indian attack..General Notes
William Warren, I, occupied 50 acres in Elizabeth City, VA. Records suggest he had 650 acres on the North side of the Charles River. He assighned his share to Nathaniel Warren and becomes due to said William as the son and heir of Nathaniel. The other half accruing due unto the said William by inter marrying with Fra. Allen, the only heir now living of Xphr Allen, 1/23/1653.
The correct linkage is believed to be to a William Warren who came to VA. cc 1625 and who was killed there during an Indian attack in 1644. This William Warren, I, was the half brother of another Radcliffe Warren who was killed during a boundary disputer between William Claiborne of Maryland and some Virginia settlers. This same William Warren, as the result of the murder of his half brother was at the core of some political unrest in Virginia at the time.
Leutinant Radcliffe Warren was in the army of Virginia and was sent in an armed boat by Claiborne of Virginia to recover goods of the inhabitants of Kent Island, taken by the followers of Calvert of Maryland, who sent Lieutenant Cornwallys in a boat against Lt. Warren. A fight ensused and Warren was killed. Lt. Radcliffe Warren was second in command on Kent Island in 1635. An inquest was held on Lt. Warren's body by order of the Court of St. Marys Co., Maryland. 12/2/1635 or 36, "Maryland Archives Provincial Council proceedings:" When the Virginians learned that their govenor, "Harvey," approved of the Calvert's murder of Warren they werre indignant and held a public meeting at yourtown, VA., in April 1635 at the home of William Warren to cnsider Harvey's conduct, etc.
Per website, 1632, Jamestown, VA., in 1633 William Warren, I, leased 50 acres from Lancelot Barnes and died 1657, in Yorktown Co., VA.
