Sarah was born about 1759 in New Hanover, NC.1 Sarah's father was Benjamin Herring and her mother was Mary Bright. Her paternal grandparents were JOHN HERRING and Catherine Morbe. She had four sisters named Dorcas, Nancy, Bright and Elizabeth. She was the second youngest of the five children.-
