His paternal grandfather was Wulfnoth of Sussex; his maternal grandparents were Jarl Thorkill Sprakalaeg and Sigrid Sprakalegg. He had six brothers and four sisters, named Sveyn, Harold II, Tostig, Gyrth, Leofwine, Wulfnoth of Wessex, Edith Eadgyth of Wessex, Gunhilda of Wessex, Elgiva of Wessex and Driella of Wessex.General Notes
