Jean Jane was born on August 19th, 1793 in Lancaster Co., PA. Jean Jane's father was Amos Slaymaker and her mother was Isabella Fleming. Her paternal grandparents were Henry Slaymaker and Faithful Richardson; her maternal grandparents were James Fleming and Janet Cowan. She had six brothers and four sisters, named James Fleming, Jasper, Henry Fleming, Amos Henderson, William Daniel, John R., Faithful, Isabella, Elizabeth and Hannah.
