Amos Henderson was born on September 12th, 1791 in Lancaster Co., PA. Amos Henderson's father was Amos Slaymaker and his mother was Isabella Fleming. His paternal grandparents were Henry Slaymaker and Faithful Richardson; his maternal grandparents were James Fleming and Janet Cowan. He had five brothers and five sisters, named James Fleming, Jasper, Henry Fleming, William Daniel, John R., Faithful, Isabella, Elizabeth, Jean Jane and Hannah. He was the fifth youngest of the eleven children. He died at the age of 65 in 1856 in Lancaster Co., PA.General Notes
